Specifics of the Learning Process

Teaching is based on and inspired by the up-to-date academic research in finance. The focus is on the practically relevant topics with solid theoretical foundations and clear economic intuition. The courses typically require studying a collection of readings (lecture notes, selected chapters from the books, articles) and completing home assignments and exams. Substantial part of the coursework is devoted to the cases taken from recent business practice in Russia and abroad. In contrast to the traditional lectures, teaching on the MiF involves more teamwork and interaction between professors and students.

The main venue of the program is located in the downtown Moscow, in one of the business centers. To facilitate distant learning, our courses are accessible through internet. Students have easy access to course materials and library resources. They submit home assignments online and communicate directly with tutors.

The instruction on the MiF is bilingual. Visiting professors teach in English, whereas NES faculty teaches mostly in Russian. However, all course materials (textbooks, cases, slides, home exercises, and exams) are provided in English.
